Urnex Cafiza is a formulated powder to remove residue, rancid coffee oils and lime scale deposits from your espresso machine. This product is used to backflush semi-commercial and commercial espresso machines as well as cleaning any metal parts such as screens and filter baskets. This product is not a decalcifier and should not be dissolved in a reservoir or put through a boiler.

SPECIFICATION

Backflush (each group head):
Step 1 Insert blind filter in portafilter and add up to 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) of Cafiza® Powder. Insert portafilter into group head.

Step 2 Activate brew cycle for 10 seconds. Stop 10 seconds. Repeat 5 times.

Step 3 Remove portafilter. Activate brew cycle and rinse portafilter in stream of water from group head. Stop cycle.

Step 4 Insert portafilter into group head. Repeat step (2) without Cafiza® Powder 5 times.

Step 5 Make and discard a cup of espresso to ensure no residue remains.
Soak:
Step 1 Soak filters and metal of portafilter for 30 minutes in 1 teaspoon (6 g) of Cafiza® Powder per 32 oz (1 L) of hot water.

Step 2 Rinse with clean hot water.
